SMS Sending error with Samsung S2 on Rogers LTE

While using the Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE on Rogers LTE network here in Canada (Toronto/Ontario), we seems to have a problem sending SMS. Each time we send an SMS we got a “failed” error posted right behind the message. The error is showing in the error screenshot on the side.

OK, after toying around for a while I have discovered that switching back to either 4G or 3G will resolve the problem. You can do that by following the below steps:

1- Go to Setting
2- Click on “Wireless and network”
3- Scroll down and go to “Mobile Networks”
4- Go to “Network Mode”
5- Change it to  “GSM/HSPA(Auto mode)” from the default which is “GSM/HSPA/LTE(Auto Mode)”

I know what you are thinking, you area already paying an extra 10-20 dollar to get on the LTE network & now I am telling you to switch it off if you want to send SMS. Well, some time reality is so painful & this is one of these cases. I have visited Rogers office & called support and said we have just to wait till their new LTE network is really ready. I guess we will be paying for them to fix & test their system!! Time to screem “YOUR LTE SUCKS. YOU HAVE MADE US WAIT FOR TOO LONG AND YOU STILL NOT READY!!!!!”

Your next step: Go to your Rogers or call them and complain about it!!!!

Motorola Droid RAZR(Motorola RAZR) or Droid Droiz

Motorola Droid RAZR

A few days ago Motorola has presented the Motorola Droid RAZR(Motorola RAZR) or Droid Droiz. The American company puts on the market a new model of the range that gave it so many hits, such as the Droid. In addition, Motorola are betting on Android , as demonstrated in their latest releases, the Admiral Motorola and the Motorola Atrix 2 , so we predict good sales for the new Motorola RAZR in the American, Canadian, European & rest of the world mobile market. Its interesting enough that it’s the first Android phone Motorola released after being acquired by Google. It seems the acquisition is really working well with the release of this Super Android Phone.

The Droid Razr has been released on October 27 on the U.S. Verizon’s Network. Rogers in Canada has it on pre-ordering & it should be hitting the European Market soon.

Description

I believe the Design of the Motorola Droid is one of its biggest features. With an impossibly thin design, the new MOTOROLA RAZR is a marvel of engineering, one you’ll want to show off to the world. Thinner than your friend’s smartphones, it’s better looking too, with sculpted glass and diamond-cut aluminium accents. Thin no longer equals frail. Motorola has made the MOTOROLA RAZR with KEVLAR fibre, while Corning Gorilla Glass helps the screen stand up to the scratches and scrapes that are bound to happen. Spilt coffee? Caught in the rain? No problem. This phone is protected with a splash-guard coating & even the electrical boards inside. The design and durability features of this smart phone make me just say WOW!

After the Motorola Atrix the company seems to be stepping up and continues to launch Android phones to compete with the best in the market. In addition, the Motorola Droid RAZR will be able to utilize the Atrix accessories, so Motorola will continues to build an ecosystem of devices around the accessories designed for the Atrix, especially the dock, where your smart phone can become a netbook with ease.

Features

The Motorola Droid Razr presents high-end components such as its dual-core processor 1.2GHz and 1Gb of RAM. The Motorola Razr comes with16 gigabytes of internal memory plus a microSD card, included in the box 16GB microSD card, so the Razr Droid appears on the market with no small amount of 32 GB of memory. Its screen, a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED sporting a resolution of 960 X 540 QHD.

Multimedia elements, the Razr Droid brings a rear camera of 8 megapixel camera with image stabilization and video recording at 1080p, HD front camera for video calls. In terms of connectivity, the Motorola has 4G, 3G and WiFi so you can use at any point where we are. As a postscript, it comes with Bluetooth 4.0, the ultimate connection.

The OS will be Android Gingerbread 2.3.5 and its proximity to the release of Android Ice Cream Sandwich makes it one of the candidates to receive this update in a short period of time. Motorola promised that the Motorola RAZR will get the Android Ice Cream Sandwich no later than mid of 2012.

MotoCast a free Motorola app that’s built in to the MOTOROLA RAZR, lets you safely and effortlessly stream music, films and more from your PC. Across the street or across the country, you can still rock your playlists or flip through pics, without using up your phone’s memory. I believe MotoCast will be a great piece of software that change how we store and access our files/documes on the run.

Samsung Galaxy S3 charging but not detecting USB Connectivity

I have lately seen quite few people complain that their Samsung Galaxy S3 (Same symptoms seems to exist in the Galaxy S4 & Galaxy S2) could charge when connected to their laptop, but could not detect it as a USB connection. You might need your Android phone to detect your laptop USB connection to be able to tether internet or just to move files across. If you are facing such a problem, I would suggest you try the below different solutions:

Option#1: If “Connected as usb device” show up in your pull down notification shade, then click on it and switch to PTP mode and that should fix it.

Option#2:

  1. Shutdown your phone
  2. Remove your battery
  3. Remove your SD Card
  4. Wait couple of minutes
  5. Put your SD Card and battery back
  6. Power on your phone, though make sure it is not connected to USB yet
  7. After your phone has completed it is power on cycle connect it to your USB cable and test.

Option#3: If the above two options does not work, make sure you are using a supported USB cable preferably the original one that came with your phone. Maybe borrow a known working cable from a friend to test it.

Option#4: If none of the above work, it might be your phone or laptop have a problem and it is time to visit a repair center.

Hope this help and enjoy your Android Power.

how-to-crack-the-apple-iphone-5s-touch-id-sensor-step-by-step

To all those Apple fans who ran to the Apple store to buy the iPhone 5S. It is funny that the new top notch security finger print scanner included with the iPhone 5S which was most hyped by all the iPhone 5S fans was cracked less than 48 hours of the iPhone 5S hitting the shelves. The new iPhone 5S tocuh ID Sensor is not as secure as Apple would like you to believe, and should not be used instead of the numbering locking mechanism. Just ignore the Apple misleading statement of this feature making your iPhone more secure as it is exactly the opposite.

As Announced all over the news for the past week, the new iPhone 5S touch ID was cracked in the less than 24 hours by a German Hacker which the video below show the full process he took to crack the iPhone 5S finger print in a step by step fashion. He further claimed, that such procedure can be completed within 30 minutes if he was better prepared. Enjoy the step by step video on how to crack the all new Apple iPhone 5S biometric.

Starbug's Touch ID Attack. from Nick De on Vimeo

Alright, while we are not a big fan of the Apple iPhone in here it is worth taking our advice on this front to avoid using the Apple iPhone 5S Touch ID Sensor as a method to secure your Phone/Data as it fall short and easier/faster to crack than the numerical locking(Traditional method of locking the iPhone) especially if you configure it to wipe your phone clean after a number of failing attempts.

We highly recommend against the usage of the iPhone 5S fingerprint sensor to secure an iPhone that contain any sensitive data including your corporate e-mail. Hope iPhone users will listen to our advice which is already going all over the news and protect their phones with a better mechanism than the newly hyped fingerprint sensor. Sorry if that torn up a feature that you paid hefty for, but securing your data should be of a higher priority I hope.

Introducing Apple iPhone 5S & iPhone 5C

We feel sorry for all the Apple hardcore fans that had to sleep for over two weeks in the front of the Apple store to get the new Apple iPhone 5S (S stand for the same) & iPhone 5C (C stand for Cheap). We are working on creating a cure for these poor fans, but without much success yet. It seems as a problem in the head which make it more difficult to cure.

Why would you wait for two weeks inline for a phone that is not much if any different from its more than readily available predecessor? Even better you could got a superior Android phone that iPhone IOS 7 is trying to mimic these days. Look at the below picture that is showing how much copying Apple is borrowing from Android in this release.

Apple iPhone is Copying Android

Upgrading your Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE to ICE Cream Sandwich

While Android 4.0 or as better known ICE Cream Sandwich have been introduced a while back with the arrival of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, many of us were waiting the update to be rolled out to our existing mobiles including the great Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE which even had in opinion a better hardware than the one that came with the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and many other devices that were delivered with the Ice Cream Sandwich version of Android. The good news that wait is over for most of the Samsung Galaxy S2 device family and now you can receive your update either over the air or using Samsung Kies. In this article, I will share with you how to upgrade your Samsung Galaxy SII LTE to Android 4.0 to enjoy features that were strict on newer devices that came installed with it. Below are just a recap of the few features that you can gain by upgrading to Android 4.0:

Android Ice Cream Sandwich features:

    •    Improved camera app with zero shutter lag, time lapse settings, panorama mode, and the ability to zoom while recording
    •    Built-in photo editor

    •   Easier-to-create folders, with a drag-and-drop style

  •     •   Virtual buttons in the UI, in place of capacitive or physical buttons
        •    Pinch-to-zoom functionality in the calendar
        •    Integrated screenshot capture (accomplished by holding down the Power and Volume-Down buttons)

    •   Separation of widgets in a new tab, listed in a similar manner to apps
    •    A customizable launcher
    •    Improved visual voicemail with the ability to speed up or slow down voicemail messages

    •    Support for the WebP image format
    •    Hardware acceleration of the UI
    •    Wi-Fi Direct

From the way I have order the list above, you probably can tell the Camera app improvement was a major plus point in my opinion. I know I know you came here to find out how you can get the Android 4 not to read about its new features, so lets get into business. You can get the Android Ice Cream Sandwitch for your Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE and other flavors of the Samsung Galaxy S2 mainly by two methods.

1- Over the air(OTA): You will wake up one morning and find a message in your Android device notification area informing you that you have a software update available & ask you if you want to proceed with the update. Just answer with yes and follow the procedures on the screen & wohoo you get boosted to Android 4.0 and get all of its features mentioned above! In order for this to happen your service provider has to be started to roll the updates in your area and your turn to upgrade is finally there. If you did not get that notification, don't give up maybe you can speed thing up by trying the second method.

2- Using Samsung Kies:
I was actually one of the people who did not get the upgrade notification message as my service provider (Rogers in this case) did not seems the fastest to roll them out & my turn for over the air upgrade was not yet there. As I could not wait, I thought I will try Samsung Kies and see if I can pull the update rather than wait for it to be pushed to me over the air & Vooyooola! That worked out and I got Android 4.0. For those of you who need instruction on how to do that, just read the instructions below.

Using Samsung Kies to upgrade your Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE to Android 4.0

1- Download Samsung Kies 2.0 from Samsung website at: http://www.samsung.com/ca/support/usefulsoftware/KIES/JSP
2- Double click the installer and follow the installation instruction which can be a bit different whether you are using Mac or Windows.
3- Start your Samsung Kies 2.0 by clicking on it in your program files(Windows users) or Application folder(Mac users)
4- After the Samsung Kies application complete its loading, connect your Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE or your particular model of the Samsung Galaxy S2
5- Wait till Samsung Kies detect your Galaxy S2 device
6- After my Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE device was detected by Samsung Kies, I got the message “Some of the components of Samsung Kies need to be updated for firmware management.

7- Just press the Update Kies button
8- As soon I hit the update Kies button, I had gotten another popup promoting me to accept upgrading the firmware of my device.

9- After accepting to start the firmware upgrade, it took about 15 minutes to complete my Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE to be upgraded to Android 4.0
10- Enjoy your Android Ice Cream Sandwich on your Samsung Galaxy S2 LTE!

I hope this help some one upgrading his device to the great Android 4.0! Enjoy!

Is Apple as pure, Trendy, & perfectionist as they would like you to believe?
